Hammond Memorial races.

The Hammond memorial races are just over a week away now, and are promising to be a great day out. This year we're moving back to Wicklow, with the sign-on in Roundwood GAA club from 9:30.

We will be running six races in all:
Under 12/14/16 starting at 10:45;
A1/A2 starting at 11:30, run over 5 laps/93km;
A3 starting at 11:35, run over 4 laps/76km;
A4 starting at 11:40, run over 3 laps/59km.

You can see the circuit on Mapmyride . This is a genuinely tough circuit, with a 5 kilometre climb on each lap followed by another 5 of descent.

As usual we need loads of marshals, lead cars and helpers. Orwell riders will only be allowed to race if we have enough marshals to run the race safely, so if you don't plan on racing please come out and help.

You can put me down to marshal. However seeing as though i'm first to reply i should be given first priority to race if you have enough people!
In saying that, as it would be my first race of the season i don't want to bring the club into disrepute by being dropped on the 1st lap.....might be better off if i did marshal...

I'd like to race the A4 race but if you are short on numbers I will marshal. If I get convince (bribe) my girlfriend to marshal do I get a free pass? :)

Hopefully everyone who wants to race will get the chance to, but obviously that depends on how many show up to help out. If you can bring a substitute then you're guaranteed a race.

How are you getting out to Roundwood Fergal? Are you riding/driving out?
PS is anyone is riding/driving out from the Milltown/Dublin 6 area, please let me know.
I said I would help out with marshalling.
I assume marshalls would need to be in place by 10.15am would that be correct?
