The Olsen Wins!

Kiwi James Olsen showed his impressive turn of speed in edging out ace galloper Romano Morelli in a tight finish to record his first win of 2010 with Orwell team mates Ian O’Keefe and Patrick O’Brien third and fourth at the end of two laps of the ‘Mullagh’ circuit.

Orwell were also to the fore in the Scratch race where Dylan Rafter continued his recent run of strong league form with second on the line. Brian Ahern snatched fourth with Myles Kirby, sixth, showing that it doesn’t have to be a hilltop finish for him to score points.

Declan Quigley was Orwell’s only representative in the top six in the Semi Scratch race, scoring his first points of the year with third in the group gallop.

The Limit group had a strong Orwell presence with Dave O’Brien, Michael Hanley, Thomas O’Connell and Noel Flanagan annexing third to sixth places.

There’s a three way tie at the top of the League with Orwell’s Patrick Conlon and Patrick O’Brien level with Paul Dolan of the Irish Road Club. The updated league table can be downloaded here.
