The trail accesses many types of terrain from open heather moor land on the top through thicket spruce and Scots Pine on the lower section. And if you think you recognise the views perhaps you have seen them before! This area of County Wicklow if famous for film making with some of the classics including Brave Heart, Excalibur, King Arthur and Into the West to name but a few.
. The total length of the trail network is 14km and it is possible to short cut, meaning you can repeat or cut out sections as you wish. The terrain is a real mixture but the overall feeling is a sense of flow and fun. There really is something for everyone here, the faster you go the more challenging it becomes. Ballinastoe is hands down one of the best examples of a purpose-built trail centre and is a pleasure to ride all year round.

Thanks for the email, we'd be delighted to look after you guys. All equipment, bikes and helmets are included as well as your instructor(s), who will look after everything for you and make sure you have a great time.

Seems to be no takers for this over Christmas so it is postponed until sometime in the New Year

Hi Bryan,

Nice to see this initiative for MTBing. I wouldn't have been able to make that date, but now that it's been postponed, I have a suggestion. There are a good few folks in the club that do mountain biking at varying levels. If you want to get in touch in advance of re-arranging this event, we could discuss options for having a couple of different expertise levels, people helping out etc.

Cheers,
Diarmuid.
