Paul should be promoted to A3.
With a result like that Paul should be promoted beyond A3!
Big thanks to Stephen O'Shea, David Swift and Charlotte Stevens who all played a part in supporting the teams in Carlow today.

Stage one saw Stephen Barry in the break, and robbed of the win by a puncture within the final kilometre. He was awarded 7th place on GC thanks to the 3km rule, and pulled out a storming TT to jump to 5th overall, before ending the weekend in 6th. He well and truly belongs in A1, though his most impressive feat of the weekend was squeezing into my jersey for the presentation!
Tom Blennerhassett put himself into 9th on GC after a scorching 4th in the TT, that's him off to a well-deserved spot in the A1 ranks along with Stephen.
Manuel and Bernard also put in storming tests for 10th and 12th, leaving them in 12th and 14th on GC. Aido would've been higher up only for a penalty after the lead car went the wrong way, and Swifty is ramping up to full form well.
I also managed a sneaky green jersey, thanks to my renowned (?) sprinting abilities.

Under 12s:
15th, Killian O'Brien;
19th, Katie Reilly.
That leaves Killian in14th on GC, and Katie in 18th.
Under 14s:
16th, Andrew Ryan (keeping his 19th on GC);
Ronan finished in the bunch, slipping a few places on the GC to 22nd, while Dylan, Annie, Hannah and Ruairi all finished in the same group so they are all sitting in a share of 26th on GC overnight.
Under 16s:
More bunch finishes for Tadgh and Peter leave them in a share of 29th place overnight, but David was unfortunate to be caught out in a crash and struggled on to finish in 66th place.

In the U12s Killian placed 15th again, followed in shorty after by Katie in 17th, so they held on to their 14th and 18th places on GC respectively.
Katie was 1st girl on all stages and GC, so she went home with a sack full of prizes for her weekends work.
In the U14s Andrew improved one place better again with 15th on the stage, moving him up to 17th on the final GC. Ronan and Dylan followed in just outside the top 20, so between them they took the team prize for Orwell. Annie, Hannah and Ruairi were all close behind, wrapping up a very successful weekend for the 14s in particular.
Tadgh was the best of our 16s, missing out on a split midway through but then winning his sprint from the small group he finished with. Peter retired with mechanicals on the final lap, but was counted as a finisher for his troubles. David was unfortunately a DNS due to the injuries he was carrying from the day before, so get well soon to him and well done to them all.

While obviously the club disassociates itself from these shameful displays of near triathleticism, at least they did us proud! ;)
