A belated post, apologies. Some changes for the 2019 league from the organisers...

Try a race
For the first four rounds (Pine Forest TT and Corkagh Park), Orwell members not signed up to the league can try a round. It costs €5 per round, and you must have at least a Limited Competition licence for insurance.
If after trying it you wish to join the league, you can sign up for the normal price of €30. (€50 for 21 races is still good value!) Any points you have accrued will be kept.

Southside vs Northside
As you may have noticed from the calendar, we are trying to have more races on the southside. Last year we ended up - due to some clashes outside our control - with some extra races on the northside, and we appreciate that for a Dundrum-centric club, it makes for a longer journey for most. This also leads to difficulties with marshals making it to events on time.

TT
The first 10TT this year has been replaced with a TT up the Embankment. This will not actually be 10 miles.

Road Race types
We have specified the type of road races we will run - CP or DMS. See 6.3 of the rules for full definitions. If you're a Limit rider and you hate being in with Scratch, then DMS is for you. If you're Scratch and you like the carrot of trying to catch slower riders, then CP is for you.
Please note that if numbers on the night dictate it, we may have to change these race types.

Women and Youth
We have ran separate women's and youth competitions in the past, but it has not made any significant impact on numbers. The women and youth who are racing are taking outright placings anyway, so we will not be running separate competitions this year.

Mandatory Rounds
Previously, the championship rounds were mandatory for the overall scoring. We are removing this mandatory condition, so your overall score for the league will be total less your five worst rounds. This condition was put in place to encourage attendance at these rounds, but between the increased numbers in general and the likes of the BAR competition, there is now plenty of reason to compete in the champs anyway.
