Hi all

Tuesday nights up the hills return Tuesday 31st March at 615pm Yellow House.
We'll more than likely have 2-3 groups split from Yellow to Orange to Red. If someone is interested in leading a white group please post up on the forum.

As many Orwell members will know Tuesday nights go from when the clocks go forward next week to mid October and are ideal spins for anyone aiming to do a W200, Etape, Marmotte, Raid, Mick Byrne, ROK or basically any mountain spin throughout the year.

I'll put up a route each week probably a few days prior to each Tuesday but one thing is for certain it will include hills and lots of them. Our aim is to create a sociable, welcoming group that everyone is welcome both leisure and racing alike. Nobody will ever be left behind and we'll always regroup at the tops of each hill. It's a fun night out that will get you fit quickly.
They'll be self lead groups and everyone will need to bring all the usuals with them for a spin and lights and rain jackets are essential for 1st few weeks as it may be getting dark and cold as we descent the Featherbeds etc.

Good Friday

Dave and Marie Murnane have officially renamed it the Good Friday Crucifixion. If the weather is suitable we'll include in the Turlough Hill climb bringing us to over 700m on the rough of Leinster. This should bring the total climbing to approx 3000m and 160km in length.
All welcome to come along to this Yellow-Orange pace spin. 9am start

Post Winter Spins Sunday Mountain Group
I'll be organising a weekly Sunday spin starting from the week after Easter. It will be orange level spin aimed at people who are training for a Raid, Etape, Marmotte type event. It will be lots of hills and hope to doing 100+km each Sunday 1500m+ in climbing. Again it will be an all welcome to come along if you fancy training on the climbs. Coffee stops are compulsory!
These spins will build up to 10, 12, 14 peaks and beast in August. Once the Raid is completed in early September these spins will probably finish up.

Hope to see as many people out as possible on the Tuesday and for the GFC.

Happy Cycling

Hi All

Tuesday 31st March evening Spin No 1
Meet 615pm at Yellow House (the church side) sharp. Please don't block path.
Route Blue Light-up to Johnny Fox's-down and up the Devils Elbow-onto Glencree Road up to Glencree and then the Featherbeds for the 1st k/qom of the season.....
last year's strava route approx
www.strava.com/activities/126036286
Please bring rain coats, food, drinks, all the usual stuff, lights(will be getting dark doing last descent) and a sense of .....'climb that? why not!'
For full details please read post above. As it stands these are groups aimed at yellow to red. We don't have a white lead group at the moment. If anyone is interested in doing a white group please start a forum link. These will be a step above beginner level.

Remember these go ahead no matter what the weather and rain is only there as a present from God to keep you cool while you climb up the mountains.....

on another religious theme Good Friday is 100% a go. If weather is good we'll add in Turlough Hill on top of Wicklow Gap and will bring the spin to 160km+ and 3000m. A great test your climbing legs spin in April.

Mountains Group
Good Friday will be the 1st meeting of the Mountains group that will regularly go out every Sunday from 12/04. We'll do anyway from 100-150km most sundays(route suggestions from regulars very welcome) and will have climbing most weeks in the ball park of 1500-2500m. Aimed perfectly at those planning to do Raid, Marmotte, Etape etc but also perfect for those who've done W200, ROK etc before and want to increase their endurance levels and get better at climbing....It will suit all from dark yellow right through to red. Only precondition is that we regroup at the tops of each major climb and coffee stops are a must!
All welcome

See you all Tuesday eve
