2019 Summer Saturday Spins

Now that the WW100/200 training groups are finished, we are at an advanced stage of planning for Summer Saturday Spins.

Following 2 weekends of a well earned break, we hope to start back on Saturday 29th June.

As outlined on the kickoff night, 2 routes will be proposed for each Saturday:

• 60-80km hilly
• 70-90km flattish

As these rides are on a Saturday, we will NOT start from Joe Daly’s or from the road opposite.
The start location is here



These rides are targeted at White and Yellow riders.
(Orange and Red groups are established, and work well without coordination).

The plan is to dispatch groups as follows:

08:00 Any red or established orange groups who want to use this meeting point should aim to leave by this time

08:10 Easy Orange
This group targets yellow riders looking to up their pace
(rather than orange riders seeking an easy ride)

08:20 Yellow (Average speed: 22-24kph)

08:30 White (Average speed: 20-22kph)

All routes will be published in advance.
(we will be trialing a tech solution for this over the Summer - more info to follow)

Riders are expected to know which route they want to do (hilly or flat)
and the speed group they wish to join.

Riders are expected to be familiar with the route (Downloaded to a GPS or memorised)

Riders are encouraged to self form groups on arrival

We will try to organise leaders for White groups on the day

That way we dont get caught by road closures due to
The Lakes Blessington 10k
and we avoid any confusion with the Tallaght Hospital cycle

(The Reservoir Dog Sportive is on Sun 14th for anyone who may be interested).
