Hi Peter, if 'buddy leader' means helping the actual leader (who knows the route) with the group on the road then I'm happy to do it.

Hi Zoheb,
Joe's busy with the Orwell 1000km this weekend.
Come down to Dundrum SC carpark if you get this message in time. There's 18 yellow so 2 spaces ( 2 groups of 10). Also saw someone drop out on WhatsApp.
Hope you make it.
Peter

There are a quite few people on holidays this month.
The stalwarts who have done the heavy lifting in terms of leading need a break.
I wont be posting formal spins for September - but I am working on the Winter Sunday Spin plan (provisionally starting 3rd October).
However, there are lots of opportunites to get out on the bike this month.
05 Sep
The Reservoir Dog and Reservoir Pup Sportives are taking place. This afternoon (01 Sep) there were at least 4 Orwell members with entries for sale.
11 Sep
Ardattin 200 Audax. This is the Leinster event to celebrate the Audax Club Parisien Centenary. The Ardattin is a nice entry into audaxing. Its reasonably flat, runs on quiet roads, and easy to navigate. For this event all of the controls will be manned with food and water available. [Woodenbridge (69k) - Ardattin (113km) - Glenealy (175km)]
More details
18 Sep
The Touring/Adventure group have planned a spin to discover the highlights of South East Wicklow. The route is 74km with 1130m ascent, starts at Jack Whites and is suitable for road bikes. (Organiser: Leonard Kaye).
25 Sep
Marshalls are needed for the Hammond Memorial TT in Roundwood.
Alternatively, grab a route from the Orwell Library on RWGPS, contact some friends and head out.
If you are heading out alone, maybe swing past Dundrum where you might meet like minded Orwell riders.

Not enough people have said thanks to Joe for getting club spins going and organized after our release from Covid restrictions. This of course was on top of his heroics on ever-longe Audaxes, culminating in the Orwell 1,000 this past weekend. Joe, you mighty man, we all owe you!
