Leisurely Reservoir Dog

Slow uphill but always get there? You may feel like joining a group entered for the Reservoir Dog sportive on Sunday 4 September which is determined to do the trip its way, i.e. at a manageable pace for this very hilly route. Probably means an average for the day (moving time) of 18-19 km/hr. We plan to arrive at Russborough, the start and finish point, at 8.30 a.m. Entries close, says the website, at 5 pm on 31 August.  Happy climbing!

Hiya Tom, there is a few of us doing the more leisurely PUP Route, which kicks off officially at 9.30am so you are welcome to join us if you are not too offended at the thought of doing the shorter version.

Thank you, Colm, but no, my team will be doing the Dog, the whole Dog, and nothing but the Dog, come what may. (Well, not if it's pouring on the day).

OK, Niall & Barry - deal is, if it's raining at 07.45, I scrub regardless of forecast, otherwise cu Russborough 08.30.

Dog gone. Excuses nullified by Met Éreann's spot-on forecast of a fine day, route completed by a highly select team at the predicted average of 18.8 km/hr. Not a Pup in sight.
