Many of us have turned to the turbo and the imaginary worlds of Zwift and RGT Cycling during the current crisis but usually we can just about tolerate about an hour or two before body and mind give in! Next Sunday the 3rd of May club member Stephen McNally will be attempting a 12 hour turbo Zwift spin to raise money for a cause close to his heart - MND. Read on to hear how you can help and why this ex European Pursuit Champion is going so long!

I'm doing a 12 hour ride on Zwift on Sunday 3rd May, from 7am to 7pm. I'll let people know what routes I'll be riding, and how it'll be possible for folks to join me for a while, closer to the date.

I've chosen to fund-raise for Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. This is a charity which is close to my family since an aunt of ours was diagnosed with MND last May. Since her initial diagnosis, she has received incredible support from the IMNDA, from regular home visits, help and guidance with respect to living with MND, financial support for any required home adaptations, they also worked with the HSE in providing the required nursing support etc.

As a small organisation, the IMNDA depends heavily on fundraising and donations which make up 86% of their income. The current Covid-19 situation has had a major impact on the their abilility to fund-raise, with so many fundraising activities, and charity events having to be cancelled or postponed. All funds I raise will go directly to this great cause.

Information on how to ride along with Stephen will be added (once Barry and Stephen figure it out!)
