McNulty powers home in Batterstown

Gary McNulty crowned his return to Inter-Club League racing with an impressive sprint success in Batterstown on Thursday evening.
Orwell riders occupied four of the top six points scoring positions with Eddie Lynch just failing to catch McNulty in the bunch sprint for honours after two laps of the Mullagh circuit in bright, sunny conditions.
League leader Aidan Yates (Usher IRC) just missed out to his club-mate Ciaran McKenna in a tight decision for third.
Orwell's Declan Quigley scored for the first time in two years with 5th place just ahead of Ian O'Keefe who was 6th.
The Semi-Scratch group caught the combined Limit and Semi-Limit group on the Mullagh on the second lap and this large group contested the win. The Scratch group failed to get on terms by just over thirty seconds.
