The Women's Crit Series hosted by Scott-Orwell Wheelers returns for 2019 and this year we are delighted to announce that Appleby Jewellers are staying on as sponsors for another year.

The Women’s Crit League welcomes all levels and abilities of women racing from absolute beginners to experienced veterans from all clubs and interested parties. We aim to offer women new to the racing scene an introduction and foundation upon which to develop, while giving more experienced riders a solid platform to progress their race season. There will be separate handicapped races for beginner, intermediate and advanced racers.

The six race series will commence with a time trial on Tuesday April 9th at Batterstown, Co. Meath. This TT will help determine the handicap groups for the following rounds of racing.

The following three rounds of Tuesday night racing will be at Corkagh Park, on the dedicated traffic free Cycle Track. The fifth round will consist of a road race in Brittas.

The sixth and final round of the league will return to Batterstown for another time trial, giving riders the opportunity to compare their performance over the course of the series and realise their advancement and achievements. A prize giving will follow the TT in Caffery's Pub, Batterstown.

Appleby Jewellers are very kindly donating vouchers to first, second and third place in each category. We will also have prizes for the best Newcomer and the Most Improved rider.

NEW TT COURSE FOR 2019

Since we raced last year new traffic lights have been installed in Batterstown village therefore we have had to look for alternative TT courses. Having looked at a lot of options we have settled on a new course which will start just after the village of Batterstown. This is a slightly shorter route at approx 14km.

The route starts outside Eagle Motors (Google Maps Link to TT Start/Finish)

The new route: 2019 TT Route - Women's League

Do not park at the start line - please park in the village and ride to the start. There are a lot of parking dedicated parking spaces in Batterstown village. Please be considerate of the residents when parking and warming up.

Please do not warm up on the course.

All racers MUST have a back light and ideally a front light. You will not be allowed to start if you do not have lights.

Using TT Bikes and/or TT Bars is allowed for the TT rounds.
