As the seasons turn from Summer to Autumn to Winter some fine cyclists graduate to the senior ranks and more arrive, many more we hope, to join the ranks of the Orwell Youths.

We say au revoir but not goodbye to Luke Keating, Saul Wyse and Eoin Byrne who we wish well in the senior part of the club and look forward to having them back as leaders in the weeks and months ahead.

While the CI 2016 year doesn’t officially end until December for many of us 2017 begins now. If you’re under 18, or if your son, daughter, nephew, niece, grandchild (great-grandchild anyone?) was born in 1999 or later and would like to be cycling with the Orwell Youths then read on.

Sunday October 9th - Registration – Corkagh Park at 10:00

We will be taking names and contact details on Sunday and would encourage anyone thinking about it to come along . You can take part in the session with no obligation and you can talk to our youth group leaders Dave (McLoughlin), Jen (Sheridan) or Stephen (Ryan) about anything to do with youth cycling in the Orwell. You don’t have to be a member of Orwell to come along . For our existing members this will be a regular session as well as a chance for us all to say hello again.

Each session in Corkagh is a mixture of skill sessions, fun activities and ability appropriate races with an overriding spirit of enjoyment. The sessions are open for all ages to 18. Our youngest regular cyclist is 3. Older groups will be out on the road with experienced leaders as well as in Corkagh.

There is and will be more detailed information about the year ahead on the youth's web page. For now, just know that we would love to see you on Sunday.

For the rest of October our activities will be

  • Sunday October 16th – Gerry Brannigan from Clonee for 11 year olds and up.

But first things first, come along on Sunday to Corkagh at 10:00 to let us know you are interested.
