Leinster Youth Training Camp

Please note that the first of Leinster Cycling Youth training days will take place on Sunday the 6th March in Moynalty, Co. Meath. There at least three other days are planned, thanks to the co-operation of other clubs in Leinster. This training day and the other upcoming training days are open to all club coaches and interested parties from clubs that at the moment do not have youth members but wish to develop youth sections.. Last year's training days were a great success and we hope this year even more successful.

Sign on for the event is in the Threshing Field in Moynalty. The event is open to all underage, U12 – U16 and Junior riders in the region but anyone attending must be registered with Cycling Ireland, have a Road Bike and Helmet.

The schedule for the day is:

  • 09.30-10.15 Sign On. Sign on fee €5.
  • 10.30 – 11.20 Classroom sessions
  • 11.30 – 2.00 Road Spin with coaching on various road skills (Groups will be divided into U12, U14 and U16 with distances appropriate for each age group)
  • Lunch (Soup and Sandwiches provided) as Groups Return from the Road Trip. Skills session after lunch.

It is expected that the event will finish about 3pm.

Organiser Leinster Youth Cycling Officer Mick Considine has said that registration is not essential but would be helpful to ensure enough support and lunch for everyone so if anyone interested could contact Donal O'Sullivan at 086-823 3507 or by email at dosullivan [at] bearehaven.com
