It’s slightly unfortunate that the name has a slightly comical edge to it, because the Bogman 2-Day is definitely no joke! Not only is this one of the best stage races that I’ve taken part in this year due to the quality of the field, but every aspect of the race was first class. Definitely more top-man than bog-man. Michael Hanley heads west and lives to tell the tale!

Gaelforce West is a race that most people have heard about, and represents the “Old Lady” of Adventure Racing in Ireland. It’s a 6 Stage Point-To-Point race starting in the stunning Killary Fjord in Galway. This year Luke McMullan took on the challenge and came away smiling! Read his report of how the race was won... (warning - contains words such as "running" and other "non cycling" terms!!)
Last weekend a hardy bunch of 8 Scott Orwell Wheelers headed West to the National Championship Races in Sligo. We managed to convince (cajole) a few of them into writing a report from each of their perspectives. It makes for great reading! Well done and thanks to all
Anthony Mulholland is newish to Scott Orwell and to racing but has very quickly made an impact by being promoted from A4 to A3 in only two races! Thanks to Anthony for taking us through his race at the HOT Eddie Tobin Memorial in Enniscorthy....
The Rás Tailteann 2018 starts this Sunday with a top class field of domestic and International cyclists. The Ken Duff Memorial is the "little brother" to the Iconic Shay Elliot race. It is a grueling, hilly race that attracts some of the top A3 riders in the country. This year Michael Hanley not only raced but survived to send us this race report!

Veteran of two Rás campaigns, Brian Mc, recounts his third Rás in a row. Tight for training time and an early crash seek to thwart his aims of finishing. He also has one eye on the A2 Classification.
Bryan Geary takes us through his recent upgrade to A1. He recounts his early racing days and his return to the top domestic level.
So this was it. A hard year of training was complete. There had been many sacrifices along the way. I had cut back on the treats, eased off the sauce and succumbed to a diet of low intensity monster miles each weekend come rain, hail or shine. My family had suffered with me.
As the old expression goes “time is a great healer” and that is certainly the case when Jamie decided to ride the Rás for the second consecutive year. The pain and stress of the previous year was fading, all that remained were fond memories of a fantastic week with some great people racing around Ireland in glorious sunshine.
Bernard English took an excellent silver in the A3 National Road Race Championships in Cong, County Mayo at the weekend and gives us an account....
Get a cup of tea, as Luke GJ recounts his experience of being awash in a tidal wave of roof racks in the Tour of Omagh cavalcade.....
Scott-Orwell Wheelers' Garry Blair took a fine third place at the A3 Race of Shannonside's Pat Coyle Memorial and reports back..
