The Belgian Project is about giving young Irish cycling talent a chance of racing in Europe (Belgium) to gain valuable experience. Orwell Wheelers was one of the clubs recognised for the way the club works to develop our young riders in 2023.
A glorious summer of sunshine unfolded, making for an uninterrupted season of Monday Night Racing in Corkagh Park with running out of suncream the only concern for trackside parents....... Okay, that didn’t happen, but the racing was still pretty good. And in the end, we only lost one and a half nights to the dire weather.
Three days of youth action on Ulster roads took place in the last weekend of July at the Foyle CC Ulster 3 Day International Youth Tour. What an emotional rollercoaster for our nine Orwell youth riders (two riding in the Leinster blue) - from stage win thrills to back road spills, we saw it all!
There was a lot of 💚💚Orwell green on show on the 💙💛Leinster Youths TT and Road Race champs podiums last weekend, hosted by Cuchulainn CC in Co Louth! Congratulations to all our youth title holders and medal winners!! 🏆🥇🥈🥉
