Race results 2018

Some great news from the Emyvale GP today where Caoimhe May finished first in the Ladies race!

A small team made up of Caoimhe and Orla Hendron traveled north with Mihai-Sebastian Paveliu and his dad as support crew.

Caoimhe rode strong and smart with great tips on race craft from Orla to bring home the win. Well done all:)

In the IVCA League race on the Curragh yesterday the Scott Orwell results of the day came in Race 3.

William Parnell took a fine second place and not too far behind Barry Redmond came in 5th in a bunch sprint. Well done guys!

Meanwhile down in Clonmel Barry Greene took on the beast of the Clonmel GP - Garreth Connolly has been rumored to say it was the toughest race he ever did!

Barry took 3rd place in the A4 race. A3 not too far away now!

IVCA Racing was in summerhill tonight on the “short circuit” instead of Doreys Forge due to gravel on the route - there were cheers of delight at that announcement!

In Race 3 Terry Ryan took 4th place while Romano Morelli was just pipped at the post into 2nd.

Well done to everyone taking part in the Naas CC Open TT on tough 38.2km course on a windy day!!

Nipping in for a point with a nice sprint to the line at the IVCA Age Pursuit Race in Summerhill was our man Ken O’Neill.

Well done Ken, just goes to show never stop sprinting till you are past the line!

Here is one from sunny Mallorca!!

Lara Gillespie is in Mallorca training with the Irish Junior Squad. Yesterday they took part in a local race which had a quality field of 129 participants!

Lara was first woman home and was also 8th overall, finishing in the lead bunch which averaged over 40kph. Well done Lara!

Tuesday 19th June:

A few results coming in from racing in Mondello and the Green Sheds tonight.

First one up is a great 2nd place by Ken O’Neill in the Scratch Race of the IVCA League. A Solo break won it. Ken got in a 2 man break just before the drag up to the Warrenstown Inn, did a few up and overs hit the roundabout - nice tail wind and buried himself on the front all the way to the finish. Well done Ken, nice way to take a place



There were also placings in Race 3 for Scott Orwell Wheelers - final positions tbc but I know Romano Morelli was either 3rd or 4th and not too far behind was Patrick Malone. A tough race with the strong winds and like in the Scratch race it was a a breakaway that took first and second. The Scott Orwell quartet did a lot of work trying to reel the break back in but no joy. In the end Romano and Patrick timed their jumps well and held off for some points.







Meanwhile there was also racing in Mondello and Djonyy Gomes got in for the win in the A4 category! Unfortunately I don't have any details at the moment but we will try and find out more;)

More fantastic results for Scott Orwell Wheelers tonight! Ken O’Neill struck Gold in the A3 Leinster TT Champs and Bronze for Ronan Grimes in A2.

Saturday 23rd June

Annie and Katie were up north at the Cycling Ulster Youth Cycling Festival today. Great sunny day for racing.

Annie was 4th and Katie 5th overall in a quality Field of 12 under 14 girls.
