For what it's worth, the league TTT was always drawn out of a hat up to a few years ago. It was one rider from each handicap group and it made for an extra bit of drama, as no one had a chance to practice together beforehand.
The first 3 over the line counted as usual and it was always a good night.
The pre-arranged teams idea was brought in to encourage a sort of Club TTT championship, to see which was the best Club.
I would agree with Diarmuid that it might be fairer to revert to the old way, handicapping the race sounds
impossibly complicated!
