Youth Reports

We have a strong and growing contingent of youth and junior riders, find out more about them at the main youth page.

Orwell Youths staged their first Christmas Invitational in many years at Corkagh Park last Sunday. Cyclists from local clubs Bray Wheelers, Sorrento, Willow Wheelers, Inspiration Cycling Club and St. Tiernans joined our own youths for a 3 stage event.

Last Sunday, the Orwell Youths went on an away day to Lucan BMX club. It is one of a series of a trips they will be doing over the winter, introducing them to different disciplines and will include MTBing, CX, Track and Crit cycling. If anyone of you thought that BMXing was easy peasy, be warned - there is a reason they insist on full face masks.

The youths are looking forward to guest coaches Aidan Hammond and Aidan Ryan teaching sessions over the next few weeks, as well as a visit to Lucan's BMX track. And there's also a spin for parents - have a read below!

The underage groups are up and running a few weeks now and we are delighted to see many new faces as well as some familiar ones. Read on for reports from the first few sessions, and details of the upcoming ones!

Bray Wheelers are running a Youth Track Camp starting with accreditation this weekend, and running over the mid-term break at the end of October. It's designed for anyone who hasn't done the track ever before, so if you've thought about it, head along! Details below.
